“I am free to use all of my senses”
Say this thought to yourself little and often throughout the day. Or may be wait until you can enjoy a nap or its bedtime.
Information and knowledge is useful. Practice putting this into action. Commit to doing this one, three, or ten times a day – then you’ll start to notice the benefits.
As many of you know, one of Alexander’s major discoveries about us mammals is that the relationship of the head and spine govern the coordination of the rest of us. Yes – all of us! Physical, mental, emotional, spiritual – we don’t separate – its all one thing – our Self.
My egg broke in transit… and I’m confident it will sound delicious!

Join in with this one if you’d like to really experience the full chocolate experience.
- hold the piece of chocolate in your hand – notice the weight of it, the size of it, the temperature, the feel of it as best you can as it rests quietly just there on your hand
- next hold it up so you can easily take it in with your eyes – what is the texture, the colour, the edges which define it, the depth of it. Just let the light-waves come all the way to your eyeballs, simply receiving the visual information.
- if you hold it under your nostrils and wait for your next in-breath, do you detect any fragrance (no need to sniff or try)
- when you hold it near your ear (yes please play along!) what does it sound like?
- Did it say Eat Me?
- pause – and notice the fullness of your whole being – your head spine and pelvis as one long thing, notice how breathable you are, notice the space around you
- next refrain from bending down to the piece of chocolate, and see if you can stay tall as you gently let your fingertips lift the chocolate into your mouth – pause, don’t chew
- as you pause see if you can feel the touch of the chocolate on your tongue, its temperature, size and weight
- allow the choclate to melt, let yourself be breathable and notice if you can detect any scent or smell?
- now gently move the chocolate around your mouth and notice your tongue’s amazing abilities to move left, right, back and forth, up and down
- now fall on the floor and waggle your arms and legs in the air and clap your hands in delight!!
