“I am free to wear my favourite pants every day”
‘People do not decide their futures, they decide their habits and their habits decide their futures’, said FM Alexander.
Information and knowledge are useful. Putting these into action is even more useful. Committing to doing this thinking-in-activity one, three, or ten times a day – then you’ll really start to notice the benefits.
As many of you know, one of Alexander’s major discoveries about us mammals is that the relationship between the head and spine govern the coordination of the rest of us. Yes – all of us! Physical, mental, emotional, spiritual – we don’t separate – its all one thing – our Self.

“I am free to wear my favourite pants every day”
As I was choosing what to wear today, I realise that I wanted something that was first and mostly comfortable. The fabric has to feel good on my skin, the cut has to be free and loose enough so I can move easily. And I want to have colours which go and which, I think, suit me.
Since today is not a work day, I shall be mostly wearing trousers, a long sleeved top with thumb holes and a sweat shirt. Nothing to write home about. Or is it?
This photo is from Friday where I deliberately chose a dress to suit the occasion – it was comfortable, loose and cool and elegant. I wanted to feel my best knowing I would be very visible for a couple of minutes by my neighbours. I wanted to move freely as I was cycling up the steep hill. I wanted to be cool as it was 24oC and hot work cycling. I wanted to be elegant as my business is to do whatever I’m doing …. With Poise.
Now, since we are getting to know each other better and better, may I also say I chose my favourite underwear.
I have some merino wool pants which I adore in any weather. My son was surprised when I said I wanted to be able to wear my favourites every day.
And why not?
I love the idea of having a wardrobe ONLY full of my favourite clothes. I feel my best when I’m wearing the most comfortable things I can, and when they look good and suit the occasion – there is a real pleasure here.
It is my aim to replace my underwear to all and only be my favourites.
(If this is too much information for you, skip on, I shall move to trousers tomorrow!)
Do you wear your favourite underwear everyday? If not, why not? (Is it really a £ answer?)
Thank you to everyone who sends me emails and messages about these daily emails and how they are inspiring and informing you. Please keep them coming.
